Introduction to Impact Investing

MMI held its first Introduction to Impact Investing event in 2018, and collaborated with industry experts to hold an immersive case workshop on impact investing, a power financial instrument, in the social impact space.

The night commenced with participants learning about what impact investing is, and how to evaluate social enterprises through financial and legal means. Attendees learned how impact investing combines the ability to create meaningful social impact whilst generating financial return and were inspired by its strong potential to simply become 'investment' in the future.

Students were then broken up into small groups and worked on a case study and presented to representatives from leaders from a variety of industries, developing valuation and presentation skills.

To conclude the evening, participants were given the opportunity to network with industry leaders and gain valuable insight on future opportunities in the impact investing space.
